With structural load capacity and ease of installation critical to the build of new, state-of-the-art data centres across the globe, Tate has announced the launch of its next-generation lower embodied carbon solution – Tate Grid+ LEC.
Pushing the boundaries of engineering, this latest advancement in Tate Grid+ LEC boasts an increased maximum safe working point load of 2.2kN – an increase of almost 30%* on Tate Grid – resulting in a ceiling product that delivers substantially enhanced performance.
Tate Grid+ LEC is cutting-edge in both load and design. Built using lower embodied carbon (LEC) aluminium, it furthers Tate’s mission of helping to create sustainable spaces.
Delivering superior performance, this optimised version of Tate Grid features newly designed connectors that clamp over the ceiling connections, providing greater strength and stability to the overall structure. The use of a higher-grade aluminium further enhances the system’s durability.
Working alongside installers to continually improve and innovate, the Tate Engineering team has introduced several design modifications that cumulatively reduce install time and aid ease of installation.

Supporting installers
Tate understands that for contractors and installation teams, ease and speed of installation are essential. Working within tight project timelines and as part of larger teams, installers can rely on Tate Grid+ LEC to deliver a premium ceiling product designed for streamlined installation and exceptional performance.
Faster installation
The new design simplifies the installation process, making it quicker and more efficient due to:
- New connectors: Redesigned to clip around the ceiling profile, with exact parts provided—no cutting required on site.
- New clips: Spring-loaded clips securely hold ceiling tiles without screws.
- Ribs on connectors: Aid alignment and strengthen the system.
- Notched main runners: Ensure accurate alignment and connector positioning every time.
- Hex washer head screws: Replace Phillips head screws for increased installation speed.
