Third-party tested: New Tate Grid+ LEC

Tate Grid+ LEC is the next-generation lower embodied carbon ceiling solution from Tate.

With increased strength and load capacity, and a reduced carbon footprint through the use of lower embodied carbon aluminium, the new Tate Grid+ LEC offers an innovative solution that delivers significant advantages to data centre developers, architects, and installers. At the core of the product is an uncompromising focus on quality. Tate’s rigorous testing processes set the bar in testing standards, ensuring the reliability of the new optimised Tate Grid+ LEC.

Raising the bar in terms of testing, Tate Grid+ LEC has undergone the same precise testing as all of Tate’s product range, which includes:

Real-World Conditions: Tate conducts real-world tests by replicating a data centre ceiling environment at its Global Engineering Hubs. Full-scale tests are carried out on a specialised rig designed to simulate actual conditions, providing primary test evidence.

Independent Verification: Load assessment tests, fire rating tests, and pressure tests for air leakage are independently verified by third-party certified engineering consultants.

Vertical Tension Loads: The system undergoes rigorous vertical tension load testing, particularly focusing on its weakest point—the midspan of the unsupported structural tee. This testing helps determine the maximum working load capacity of the system.

Structural Integrity: A safety factor of 2 is applied, ensuring enhanced confidence in the system's performance.
