Tell us about yourself and your background before joining Tate as part of the Kingspan Group ‘Yours to Shape’ the graduate programme .

I studied a Bachelor of International Business with a focus on Human Resources and Marketing at the University of Limerick.

I was drawn to Kingspan and the wider industry because of Kingspan’s strong reputation - not only as a successful Irish-born company but also for its impressive global presence, which really aligned with my international business background.

What particularly stood out to me was the Planet Passionate initiative. It showed a genuine commitment to sustainability, which is something I value both personally and professionally.

Can you tell us about the guidance and support you’ve received as part of the Kingspan Group ‘Yours to Shape’ graduate programme?

The support I’ve received as part of the Yours to Shape Graduate Programme has been invaluable. From day one, my manager and my HR team have been incredibly supportive - guiding me through new tasks, encouraging me to get involved, and creating an environment where I feel comfortable asking questions and continuously learning.

The programme coordinator has also been a great support, regularly checking in and helping us stay connected across the graduate network.

Having that combination of on-the-ground support and a structured programme behind me has really helped build my confidence and shape my development so far.

What does a typical day look like for you?

As an HR graduate, no two days are the same - which is one of the things I really enjoy about the role. I look after local HR administration, which can involve anything from onboarding new employees, supporting payroll processes, coordinating employee engagement initiatives, to assisting with general HR admin and ad hoc tasks.

I work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that’s supportive and people-focused. I’ve been given a lot of autonomy and responsibility early on, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally. I love being in a role where I can make a real difference to the employee experience.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about applying to the Kingspan Group ‘Yours To Shape’ Graduate Programme?

My advice to anyone thinking about applying to the Yours to Shape Graduate Programme is to go for it, especially if you're someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Kingspan pushes you to learn quickly and step outside your comfort zone, but in a way that really supports your growth and development.

If you’re a self-starter, open to taking initiative, and eager to grow both personally and professionally, then this programme is a great fit. One thing I’ve learned along the way is that it’s okay not to know everything at the start, what matters most is being willing to ask questions, get involved, and make the most of the opportunities around you.
