As data centre infrastructure becomes more complex, so too must the solutions that support and protect it. Separating mission-critical environments such as the data hall from mechanical corridors is essential not only for operational integrity but also for safety, airflow, and compliance.
While traditional solid partitions have been widely used, an increasing number of facilities especially those with slab floors are turning to mesh caging as a superior alternative.
At Tate, we’ve developed Tate Secure Mesh Caging, a system that goes beyond conventional cages. Designed, engineered, and manufactured with precision, our solution delivers unmatched security, airflow optimisation, and structural flexibility, all backed by full BIM integration and the build quality you’d expect from a global leader.
This isn’t fabricated fencing. This is purpose-built infrastructure.

Unlike solid walls, which can obstruct airflow and complicate thermal management, mesh caging is inherently permeable allowing air to move freely across spaces.
In slab-based environments where air is often distributed from above or horizontally, this is crucial. By maintaining natural airflow paths, mesh caging helps optimise cooling efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimise the need for additional ducting or airflow redesigns.
The open architecture also improves visibility, allowing teams to conduct quick visual inspections without compromising physical security.
Seamless Structural Integration
Tate Secure Mesh Caging is built to work as part of an integrated system with Tate’s structural ceilings and raised access floors.
Using an H-channel connection, our mesh panels align flush against the ceiling grid—maintaining clean lines and airflow integrity, and ensuring a consistent structural interface. Where mesh needs to terminate at the top, we incorporate a U-channel that accommodates deflection in the slab, providing a degree of flexibility not available in fixed-position systems.
This U-channel can be securely anchored directly to the slab or the underside of beams. Where beams are present, we offer clamp-on solutions that allow mesh panels to be supported from above preserving security and airflow while simplifying installation.

Built with BIM, Installed with Precision
Every Tate Secure installation begins with detailed Building Information Modelling (BIM), allowing our team to design around site-specific complexities beams, columns, cable trays, and wall penetrations.
This not only ensures exact fitment but also reduces on-site modifications and installation time. While lower-cost fabricators rely on reactive adjustments during install, we solve for precision before materials ever arrive on-site.
Tate Secure Mesh Caging combines security, airflow, and structural integration into a single, purpose-built system. Designed with BIM for precision and manufactured to exacting standards, it ensures faster installation, cleaner coordination, and reliable long-term performance.
With modular scalability and global production capacity, Tate Secure gives operators the confidence to protect critical infrastructure while maintaining the airflow efficiency modern data centres demand.
