Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a globally recognised, science-based certification programme for designing and manufacturing products that are safe, circular, and responsibly made.
Unlike traditional sustainability models that focus on reducing harm, Cradle to Cradle Certified® supports circular economy product design — encouraging manufacturers to create products with positive environmental and social impact from the outset.
Products are assessed across five performance categories:
- Material Health – Safe materials for people and the environment
- Material Reutilisation – Designing for reuse, recovery, and circular material flows
- Renewable Energy & Carbon Management – Reducing carbon and increasing renewable energy use
- Water Stewardship – Responsible water management
- Social Fairness – Ethical labour and responsible supply chains
Certification levels range from Bronze to Platinum, reflecting increasing levels of verified sustainability performance.
What Does Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver Mean?
A Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver (v3.1) rating demonstrates verified performance across multiple sustainability criteria.
At Silver level, manufacturers must show:
- Active circular material strategies
- Responsible social and ethical supply chain practices
- Implemented sustainability measures — not aspirational targets
Silver certification is widely recognised within the construction sector as a meaningful step toward circular economy manufacturing and responsible production.
Cradle to Cradle Certification for Raised Access Flooring
Tate’s RMG600 and RMG600+ raised access panels have achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver under certification number 7236.
The RMG600 has a third-party verified EPD, HPD, VOC-tested, as well as Cradle to Cradle® Certified Silver. These credentials support key environmental frameworks including LEED v4, BREEAM, and WELL v2, making them ideal for commercial developments focusing on the highest environmental and user wellbeing standards.
The RMG600+ is an award-winning panel manufactured with more than 91% recycled content, including low-carbon electric arc furnace steel. The floor panels were also recently awarded the One Click LCA Excellence Award in Low Carbon Manufacturing Certificate.
The Cradle to Cradle assessment was independently conducted by Eco Intelligent Growth and verified under the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Programme (v3.1).
The certification recognises performance particularly in:
- Material Reutilisation
- Social Fairness
These categories reflect our commitment to lifecycle responsibility and ethical manufacturing within the built environment.
Cradle to Cradle Certification as part of Continuous Sustainability Improvement
Cradle to Cradle Certified® is structured to promote continuous improvement. Each certification level acts as a benchmark for ongoing progress rather than a final endpoint.
Achieving Silver reflects verified performance today while supporting further advancement toward higher levels of circularity and environmental responsibility. For us, this certification represents one step within a wider sustainability journey focused on measurable, science-based progress.
