What inspired you to join the company originally, and what’s kept you here over the years?

I joined the company temporarily to help clear a site as a labourer (Lincoln University for an old employee some may remember, John Becket) however, one thing led to another and was soon employed as ‘John’s Lad’ and was shown the ropes to become an installer. Over the years progressed through most of the contract roles to where I am now, Senior Project Manager.

If I am being honest on why I’ve remained with the company for so long it’s the people and relationships I have had the pleasure working with. There have been some real characters for sure and moving from project to project every 6-12 months is change enough.

How has your role evolved since you first started?

It has massively! My first role was a labourer carrying materials from A to B and pushing a broom around. These days, I’m mostly sat behind my laptop filling in endless paperwork!

What has been your proudest moment or most rewarding achievement at the company?

It has to be the delivery of the Bloomberg project using both our Raised Access Floors and introducing and installing the Attiro product to the market. On and off I’ve been involved with Bloomberg for around the last 10 years, and I was lucky enough to have a solid similar thinking team with me. Whilst the project certainly threw up some interesting challenges, we came out the other end with a hugely successful result.

What advice would you give to someone starting their journey here today?

Listen, learn and if you don’t get something speak up and say so. Trust me there usually another 2 or 3 people sat there who haven’t got a clue either! And always wear your kneepads!
