Can you tell us about your career journey so far and how this promotion came about?
Over the course of my time with the company, my career has progressed from Estimating Administrator to my current role of Estimator. Initially my role began to change to assist our estimating team on projects.
Additionally, I was offered the opportunity of further education, on a part-time basis during my working week. I feel this proved to be a key milestone as this course helped develop a better understanding of the construction industry and the built environment.
Were there moments when you questioned your readiness and how did you push through?
Definitely, it’s strange sometimes. From where my career journey started to be involved in complex, high value projects with the challenges that occur.
Approach every project in the same way, the team’s help is always there when needed.
What do you think contributed most to your success and readiness for this new role?
The increased involvement in estimating / pricing of projects over the years, expanding knowledge and experience. Improving and creating new skills along the way.
How have relationships at work influenced your career so far?
The estimating and sales team has influenced my career with their assistance, guidance and training over the years.
The positive working relationships made across the departments of the company are a great advantage along with the friendships made over the years.
