AEO is a global lifestyle, clothing and accessories retailer. The NYC office, known as the AEO New York Design Center, is in the historic Tiffany & Co. building in the heart of Manhattan and acts as a hub for designers, merchant and production teams.
A recent office expansion and renovation focused on the company’s cultural and functional goals and aimed to optimize team member collaboration, flexible working and a safe and healthy environment.
The beautiful, historic building features 20-foot-tall ceilings and a unique domed roof skylight, both important characteristics the architects wanted to highlight. By utilizing 8-inch raised access floors with Underfloor Air Distribution, the design team was able to showcase the beauty of the architecture while taking advantage of the many benefits of UFAD. Underfloor Air Distribution allowed the designers to avoid bulky, overhead ductwork or drop ceilings, highlighting the gorgeous domed roof skylight, improving the building’s energy efficiency and increasing employee access to daylighting. UFAD also improves the building’s indoor air quality by supplying air directly into the occupied zone, rather than high overhead, so contaminants are pulled up and away from occupants. These features combined increase employee comfort and create an ideal work environment.
It was important for the designers of this space to produce a creative work environment for the employees. Our STONEWORKS® Classic Concrete raised access floor panel combines style and functionality into one solution that fit the designer’s aesthetic vision for the space.
The employees in this office deserve a creative space to spark inspiration and a flexible space to adapt to their needs, and that’s exactly what American Eagle has provided by utilizing raised access floors throughout the office.
