2025 Net Zero Conference

2025 Net Zero Conference in Los Angeles to Showcase Climate Solutions for the Built Environment, Featuring Industry Leaders Including Tate

The 12th annual Net Zero Conference, focused on climate leadership and decarbonization of the built environment took place on October 1, 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Hosted by Verdical Group, the conference brings together architects, engineers, policymakers, contractors, and sustainability professionals to share strategies, technologies, and innovations that are shaping a net zero future.

This year’s program features keynotes from renowned climate advocates, including Joel Cesare (Cambio), Leah Thomas (Environmental Justice Advocate), Nalleli Cobo (Environmental Activist), and Michael Ford (The Hip Hop Architecture Camp). With dozens of sessions, an exhibit hall, and the Trailblazer Awards Ceremony, the 2025 event is set to be the most comprehensive to date.

A Focus on Materials and Climate-Ready Construction

One of the conference’s five thematic focus areas is “Preparation Processes for a Zero (or Negative) Carbon Footprint”, spotlighting advances in sustainable construction materials, recycling innovations, and long-term strategies for improving the environmental performance of our built environment.

As part of this track, the Materials panel will feature experts from across the construction and manufacturing sectors, including Tony Giansanti, Regional Sales Manager at Tate, a market leader in raised access floor systems. Giansanti will join Sarah Rege (Webcor) to share insights on how manufacturers and general contractors are turning net-zero building goals into actionable outcomes. The session will be moderated by David Gottfried, co-Founder of the U.S. Green Building Council and World Green Building Councils

The session will explore real-world case studies, as well as emerging material solutions that reduce waste, improve operational flexibility, and lower life-cycle carbon impacts.

“We're not just building for today — we're building for decades to come,” said Giansanti. “At Tate, our raised access flooring systems are engineered to adapt to a building’s changing needs, which helps reduce renovation waste and extend the life of construction investments.”

Tate’s raised access flooring solutions support underfloor air systems, integrate recycled materials, and allow for energy-efficient reconfiguration—offering long-term benefits such as:

  • Reduced embodied and operational carbon
  • Lower life-cycle costs
  • Flexibility to accommodate future technology and space needs
  • Minimal disruption during tenant turnover or layout changes

These innovations align with the broader goals of the conference: to highlight products and practices that reduce environmental impact, support climate resilience, and accelerate the transition to zero-carbon buildings.

The 2025 conference also includes workshops, networking events, and an expo hall showcasing cutting-edge decarbonization technologies, from recycled concrete solutions to carbon-negative materials and next-gen building systems.
