Across the United States, the AI boom is reshaping where and how opportunity develops—but those gains are not always evenly distributed. Tate is working to change that.
By intentionally investing in small rural communities, Tate is proving that advanced manufacturing, high‑quality jobs, and long‑term economic value can thrive far beyond major metropolitan centers. With manufacturing facilities located in St. Paul and Lebanon, Virginia, Pocahontas and Corning, Arkansas, and now Glasgow, Kentucky, Tate’s expansion strategy is rooted in the concept that investing in rural America helps ensure economic opportunity is widely shared.
This commitment is reinforced by Tate’s People Passionate and Planet Passionate initiatives, two pillars that guide how the company invests in communities, supports local talent, and ensures that growth is both sustainable and socially responsible. These initiatives reflect Tate’s belief that revitalizing rural regions means not only creating jobs, but also building healthier, more resilient communities over the long term.
A Model for Rural Revitalization
Tate’s approach to growth goes beyond adding square footage or increasing production capacity. Each new facility represents a long-term commitment to the people and economies of the regions where we operate.
In many rural communities, decades of industrial decline have left gaps in employment, training, and economic mobility. Tate’s investments help fill those gaps by:
- Creating stable, high-quality jobs
- Strengthening local supply chains
- Supporting small businesses that benefit from increased economic activity
- Providing career pathways in advanced manufacturing
- Bringing renewed confidence to regions seeking sustainable growth
- Advancing environmental responsibility through Planet Passionate goals, including ambitious goals targeting carbon footprint reduction, renewable energy, circularity, and harvesting water.
- Supporting community wellbeing through People Passionate initiatives, which aims to enhance the employee experience across the company
Virginia: St. Paul & Lebanon
In St. Paul, Tate transformed a rural community by rapidly standing up a 276,000‑square‑foot facility in response to a major hyperscale order. Within nine months, the site was online and shipping product, and what could have been a hiring challenge became a competitive advantage. Tate St. Paul quickly became an employer of choice, attracting a motivated workforce and injecting new economic energy into the region.
Tate's impact in St. Paul extends beyond the facility walls. Through a local conservation partnership at nearby Oxbow Lake, the team helped install fishing line recycling stations to encourage responsible disposal of fishing lines, lures, and hooks inand support of local environmental stewardship efforts. Tate also collaborates with regional manufacturing organizations to support workforce development initiatives and recognize excellence within the industry, including programs that celebrate the contributions of women in manufacturing. Together, these efforts reflect Tate's commitment to strengthening both the local economy and the broader community.
In Lebanon, Tate maintains an important operational footprint that supports regional activity and provides additional space to strengthen the company’s presence in Southwest Virginia.
Arkansas: Pocahontas & Corning
In Pocahontas, Tate operates a major facility of more than 428,000 square feet, employing more than 400 people across manufacturing, skilled trades, engineering, and technical roles. The site has become a cornerstone of the local economy, strengthening the regional manufacturing base and creating long-term career opportunities.
As one of Glasgow’s newest employers, Tate is already becoming an active part of the community. The team recently participated as a community partner in the city’s annual Juneteenth celebration, providing refreshments, sharing career information, and connecting with local families, community leaders, and residents. As the only business represented at the event, Tate had a unique opportunity to introduce the company to the community while reinforcing its commitment to being a long-term partner in Glasgow’s growth and success.
In Corning, Tate has expanded its regional capacity in Arkansas, adding strategic space that supports future growth and enhances the company’s ability to serve customers at scale.
Kentucky: Glasgow
Tate’s new 764,000‑square‑foot facility in Glasgow will be the company’s largest and most advanced site yet. The project includes 400 new jobs, representing the largest economic announcement the community has seen in 20 years. Our Glasgow facility is represents the next chapter in Tate’s blueprint for scaling effectively, combining rapid execution with long‑term, sustainable growth in capacity, skills, and customer confidence.
Building the Workforce of the Future
When Tate invests in a new building, we’re investing in the whole community. Across all regions, Tate is developing the workforce needed to support the next generation of digital infrastructure by:
- Partnering with local schools and technical programs
- Offering apprenticeships and early career pathways
- Providing upskilling and leadership development
- Creating long-term career opportunities in advanced manufacturing
- Supporting community wellbeing through People Passionate initiatives
These programs ensure that Tate’s growth becomes shared growth, benefiting employees, families, and communities for decades.
Creating Long‑Term Economic Value Alongside Infrastructure Growth
The rapid expansion of AI infrastructure is reshaping the industrial landscape, creating both opportunity and responsibility. Tate is meeting this moment by not only scaling production capacity, but by thoughtfully aligning its growth with the needs of the communities it serves.
By embedding long-term workforce development, resilient supply chains, and environmental stewardship into every expansion, Tate is helping ensure that progress is both durable and widely shared. The company’s Planet Passionate commitments reinforce this approach, driving measurable improvements in efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable operations across its footprint.
Rather than concentrating growth in already saturated markets, Tate is demonstrating that the future of advanced manufacturing can take root in places often overlooked. In doing so, the company is helping shape a more balanced model of economic development—one where innovation doesn’t just expand infrastructure, but strengthens communities, builds lasting careers, and creates opportunities that extend well beyond the factory floor.
